INANUNSYO ng organizers nang WTA 500 tournament kahapon na umatras ang world number three Simona Halep sa Qatar Open sa Doha.
Halep, na nabigo ng straight sets kay Serena Williams sa Australian Open quarter-finals nakaraang Linggo, ay hindi tinukoy ang dahilan kung bakit umatras sa March 1 to 6 hard court tournament.
“Unfortunately I have made the decision to withdraw from the Qatar Total Open,” Sambit ni Halep sa statement na inilabas ng tournament organisers.
“It’s always one of my favourite stops on the tour and I really look forward to being back in Doha next year.”
Inaasahang sasabak sa tournament sina world number 1 Ash Barty at American Sofia Kenin sa tournament kabilang ang gaya nina Elina Svitolina, Karolina Pliskova.
