Ang team, ay binubuo nina CJ Perez, Mo TauTauaa,rookies Joshua Monzon, at Alvin Pasaol ay dumating sa Inspire Sports Academy bubble sa Calamba.Laguna kug saan ang players ay isailalim sa mahigpit na training.
Ronnie Magsanoc ang maging team coach, habang si Santi Santillan ng Rain or Shine at Karl Dehesa ang maging kahalili.
“I’m excited about the opportunity. I know everybody is excited to represent the Philippines. So hopefully we make it to the Olympics,” Wika ni Munzon.
Huling nakapasok ang Pilipinas sa Olympic basketball ay noong 1972 Munich Olympics.
“I think all of us are raring at the chance to get out there and make it a reality. It’s a dream for all of us to make it to the Olympics and I think this is a big opportunity for us and the country. It’s a special moment for us to be able to represent the Philippines,” Sambit ni Munzon.
Ang Gilas ay maglalaro sa Graz,Austria kung saan ang Olympic qualifiers ay tatakbo mula Mayo 26 hanggang 30.
Gilas ay nakagrupo sa Pool C kasama ang Slovenia,Quatar, at Dominican Republic.
Kailangan ng Pilipinas at least two games para umusad sa knockout stage ng group competition.
Tatlo lang sa 20 kalahok na bansa ang ma qualify para sa Tokyo Olympics.
