IKINAKASA ng nombradong Vietnam SEAG chief de mission na si Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Ramon Fernandez ang komprehensibong pagpapatuloy ng training ng Philippine delegation para sa 31st Southeast Asian Games na idaraos sa Vietnam ngayong taon.
Tinuran ni Fernande na tinalakay na ito sa Philippine Olympic Committee (POC). “As the CDM and a PSC Commissioner I am as interested as everyone for our teams to resume formal training and we are working on it,” paniyak ni Fernandez.”However, at the forefront of efforts at this time is the recently started Olympic training bubble for the national team.”
Ang mga atleta mula sport ng boxing, taekwondo at karate ay nag-resume na ng training sa isang bubble set-up. Ang naturang sports agency ay nakikipag-ugnayan sa ibang sports na nag- propose ng kanilang sariling training arrangements.
“We only have IATF go-signal to resume training for the Olympics as of now,” paliwanag naman ni Philippine Sports Commission National Training Director Marc Velasco.
Niliwanag ni Velasco na lahat ng aktibidad ng national team na may close coordination sa POC ay dapat aprubado ng PSC na inatasan naman ng Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 na babalikat sa strict monitoring upang matiyak ang kanilang protocols at health safety . “The training must be in a bubble set-up, especially for contact sports,” saad ni Velasco.
“We want to field a competitive team for all scheduled Games, we know how important it is to resume formal training, however we also find ourselves in unique times at the moment and we work on what we can and are allowed to do” ani pa Velasco. (Danny Simon)
