ITINAMPOK ng Philippine Sports Commission’s (PSC) Rise Up, Shape Up sa weekly web series ang koneksiyon ng physical activity sa cardiovascular health sa nakaraang 13th episode na ineere via live streaming sa Facebook at YouTube, nitong Sabado.
Ang naturang episode tna may titulong “Don’t Break My Heart: Women’s Physical Activities to Ensure a Fit Heart” at tinalakay ang kahalagahan ng isang puso sa pisikal at psychological na aspeto na maging malakas at malusog. Itinampok din ang mga tips sa ‘improving cardiovascular health for non-athletic women.’
“Sports is primarily an activity that requires physical exertion, with our muscular system engaged. We move with them, stretch, run, and jump. Our athletes undergo intense training to make sure that their muscles can endure the intensity of their sports. But we often forget another muscle that also needs TLC, which is our hearts,” wika ni PSC Commissioner Celia Kiram na siyang may timon sa women in sports initiatives.
“Physical fitness and cardiovascular health are closely related so this episode puts a prime on taking care of our hearts in all aspects. After all, its function fuels us to move and do our daily tasks.” dagdag ni Kiram
Si National coach Divine Escala ang tumalakay sa virtual exerises in strngthening one’s heart.
Nag-share naman si Dr. Cristine Catindig-Santelices na ang physical activities for non-athletic women at ang limits of the heart in high-intensity activities. Siya ay kasalukuyang consultant sa Manila Medical Hospital and Manila Doctors Hospital.
Si Ms. Nenuca Fe Canlas-isang registered psychologist at konektado sa Counseling and Educational Psychology Department ng College of Education of De la Salle University, Manila ay tinalakay ang management of moods and emotions to keep our hearts balanced and well-loved.(Danny Simon)
