BIBIDA si Southeast Asian Games gold-winning cyclist Marella Salamat sa Philippine Sports Commission’s (PSC) Rise Up! Shape Up! episode bukas February 26 upang bigyang inspirasyon ang mga Filipino na subukan ang larangan ng cycling para sa healthy lifestyle.
Tanyag si Salama sa pag-uwi nito ng gold medal para sa Pilipinas sa competitive cycling noong 2015 edition of the biennial sports event at ang kanyang bronze medal sa prestihiyosong 2016 World University Cycling Championship women’s road race event.
Ang champion cyclist na nagpalit ng sport noong 2013 mula bowling sa pagkjmbinse ni national cycling coach Cesar Lobramonte.
Binigyang diin ni Women in Sports Commissioner Celia Kiram na ang biking ay isa ring sports activity bukod sa pagiging social activity.
“It is a hope that the increasing interest in it so that a lot more can be involved in this sport aside from being a physical activity that can make Filipinos healthy,” ani Kiram.
“ Salamat as an example of a competitive cyclist who can inspire Filipinos to take the sport on. “
