KINUMPIRMA ni Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas president Al Panlilio nitong Miyerkules, na ang Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 ay papasok sa bubble training camp sa Inspire Sports Academy sa Calamba,Laguna simula sa Linggo upang paghandaan ang FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Anim na players, kabilang ang dating Rookie of the Year CJ Perez at ang kanyang San Miguel teammate Mo Tautuaa,top rookie pick Joshua Monson ng Terra Firma, at kapwa rookies Alvin Pasaol ng Meralco at Leonard Santillan ng Rain or Shine ang susugod sa facility kasama ang dating Phoenix player Karl Dehesa,
Dehesa at Santilla ang maging reserved ng squad.
“We are happy to tell everyone that our request was received favorably by the PBA to join the training bubble for the FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT),” Wika ni Panlilio.
“The SBP thanks Commissioner Willie Marcial, the PBA Board of Governors, and the mother teams of the five players for their support.”
Ang torneo ay nakatakda sa May 26 to 30 sa Graz,Austria.
Makakasagupa ng Pilipinas ang Quatar at Slovenia sa Mayo 26, bago ang Dominican Republic at France sa Mayo 28 para sa tsansang masungkit ang isa sa tatlong spot para sa Tokyo Olympics.
