Jawo, Buhain, Muros-Posadas at 7 pa napili bilang 4th batch ng Hall of Fame enshrinees

PINILI na ang pinal na line up para sa 4th batch ng enshrinees ng Philippine Sports Hall of Fame (PSHOF) nitong nakaraang weekend.
Matapos ang pormal na seleksiyon,inanunsiyo ng PSHOF Selection Committee ang sampung sports heroes na napili upang ma-induct sa PSHOF sa darating na Abril.
Sila ay sina Paulino Alcantara (Football), Eric Buhain (Swimming), Dionisio Calvo (Coach-Basketball & Football), Arianne Cerdena (Bowling), Robert Jaworski (Basketball), Gertrudes Lozada (Swimming), Elma Muros-Posadas (Athletics), Rogelio Onofre (Athletics), Leopoldo Serrantes (Boxing) at Roel Velasco (Boxing).
Ang selection committee, sa bisa ng Republic Act 8757 o Philippine Sports Hall of Fame Act, ay sa timon ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William Ramirez kaagapay si Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Abraham Tolentino bilang vice chairperson. Miyembro sina Games and Amusement Board Chairman Abraham Mitra, Philippine Football Federation Secretary General Atty. Ed Gastanes at Philcycling Secretary General Atty. Billy Sumagui bilang NSA representatives, Philippine Olympians Association President Akiko Guevara at UAAP Executive Director Atty. Rene Andrei Saguisag Jr bilang private group representatives.
“It’s been a pleasure. Naapreciate ko ang review committee, malaking tulong. Salamat sa inyong recommendation. I am glad that a new batch of people who fought for the country and sacrificed a lot will be given recognition to inspire the new generation of sports heroes,” wika naman ni Mitra
Pinaprihan ni Tolentino ang pagsisikap ng parehong committee at pinasalamatan sila “for this recognition of our sports heroes which is an inspiration to all.”
Nagpahayag si Ramirez na ang proseso ng selection ay isang ‘journey of discovery’. “I would like to thank everyone for all their work. It is very enriching for me to be part of this awards” ayon sa PSC chief.
“I am pleased with the choices of both the review and selection committees. Congratulations to all the 4th batch enshrinees!”
Tatanggap ang enhrinees ng P200,000 bawt isa at PSHOF trophy.
