MANILA CHOOKS NO GO SA FIBA 3X3 CROATIA

NO go ang Philippine Team na sasabak sana sa 2021 FIBA 3×3 Lipik Challenger.
Kainapos sa panahon para sa hinihintay na Croatian visa, nagdesisyon ang pamunuan ng Manila Chooks TM na bawiin ang partisipasyon sa prestihiyosong liga na nakatakda kahapon at ngayon (Mayo 21-22) sa Croatia.
Ipinadala ng koponan ang visa application sa Jakarta, Indonesia nitong Mayo 7 pa dahil walang embahada ng Croatia sa Pilipinas, ngunit hanggang kamakalawa (Mayo 19), hindi pa nabigyan ng visa sina Chico Lanete, Mac Tallo, Zach Huang, at Dennis Santos.
“There are things that we have no control of and this is one of them,” malungkot na pahayag ni Chooks 3×3 owner Ronald Mascarinas. “Since 2019, this is the first time that we had to pull out from a FIBA 3×3 tournament and the players were really looking forward to it.
“But the challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic made it hard for us to obtain our deligation’s visas,” aniya.
Nakatakdang sumabak ang Manila Chooks TM sa qualifying draw at pinaghandaan ito ng koponan sa masinsin na ensayo sa bubble set-up sa Lucena Convention Center sa Quezon.
“The boys have been raring to bounce back after Doha but there are things na hindi natin kontrolado. Bawi na lang, that’s all we can do right now,” ayon kay Manila Chooks TM head trainer Aldin Ayo.
Sa kabila nito, itutuon ni Mascarinas ang atensyon sa patuloy na ensayo ng koponan gayundin sa paghahanda para sa Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 na nakatakdang ilunsad ang unang conference ngayong taon. Kabilang ang Manila Chooks TM sa sasabak sa liga na lalahukan din ng mga koponan mula sa MPBL, VisMin Super Cup, at NBL-Pilipinas.
“We are looking to have a bigger tournament this year and our team is already looking at possible locations to host our first conference which will be the President’s Cup. A lot will be at stake in the tournament, which will include slots in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go FIBA 3×3 Manila Masters,” pahayag ni Mascarinas.(Danny Simon)
