MINSAN tinalakay ni PNoy ang usapin ng korapsyon sa harap ng ilang mamamahayag noong isa siyang kongresista. Masisilip sa kuwentong ito kung bakit hindi naging korap si PNoy. Hindi siya nagpayaman sa puwesto at bumaba siya sa Malacanang na walang alegasyon na ninakaw o nilustay niya ang salapi ng bayan. Turo ito ng kanyang namayapang ina na si Cory Aquino.
Ayon kay PNoy, itinuro ni Cory na mahirap maging korap bilang isang lingkod bayan dahil mag-iiba ang pananaw at takbo ng buhay sa sandaling nagnakaw ang isang lingkod bayan. Hindi na niya gagawin ang kanyang tungkulin sa serbisyo publiko. Wala na siyang gagawin sa kanyang buhay kundi itago ang ninakaw.
Iyan ang trahedya ng maraming magnanakaw sa kaban ng bayan. Nawawala ang kanilang focus sa trabaho. Ang iniisip palagi ay kung paano itatago at mapapanatili ang ninakaw na yaman. Ayon kay PNoy, itinanim ito sa kanyang isip ng ina ng nag-uumpisa siya sa kanyang political career at tinandaan niya ito sa buong buhay.
Ito ang dahilan kung bakit hindi siya naakit kailanman sa salapi ng bayan. Hindi siya nahigop ng bato-balani ng kaban ng bayan; hindi siya nangahas na galawin ang hindi kanya. Itinuro niya ang mga aral ng katapatan at integridad sa serbisyo publiko.

DUMALOY ang santambak na pahayag at papuri ng kung sino-sino, kilala o hindi kilala, kay PNoy sa anim na taon niyang termino bilang pangulo ng bansa. Pinatatag niya ang pambansang ekonomiya, pinalakas ang mga institusyong demokratiko, kinilala ang pangingibabaw ng batas sa kanyang tungkulin, at ipinakita ang walang kaparis na katatagan ng loob at katapangan ng dalhin niya ang usapin ng pangangamkam ng China sa teritoryo ng Filipinas sa Permanent Arbitration ng UNCLOS – at nanalo.
Kinilala ng mundo ang panalo ng Filipinas sa pandaigdigang hukuman tungkol sa mga usapin ng iba’t ibang bansa sa karagatan. Ito ang basehan ngayon ng malayang paglalayag sa South China Sea na pilit na kinamkam at Inaangkin ng China na kanila. Hindi makapalag ang China sa patuloy na paggamit ng sasakyang pandagat ng maraming bansa sa South China Sea bilang bahagi ng pandaigdigang kalakalan.
Kung hindi dinala ng gobyerno ni PNoy ang usapin sa UNCLOS, hindi natin alam kung ano ang mangyayari sa pandaigdigang kalakalan. Pilit na iginiit ng China na pag-aari nila ang South China Sea sa ilalim ng pinagtatawanan na teoryang Nine-Dash Line. Malaking sugal ang ginawa ni PNoy nang dalhin niya ang usapin sa UNCLOS.
