LUMIPAT ang Filipino-American forward Gani Stevens sa University of the Philippines at maglalaro para sa Fighting Maroons simula sa susunod na taon, inanunsyo ng team Martes.
Si Stevens ay naglaro sa University of the East Red Warriors sa UAAP Season 85, kung saan may averaged na 9.4 points,6.3 rebounds at 1.0 assists per game.
Pero tinalikuran ang pangkat pagkatapos ng UAAP Season, at pumunta sa Diliman na sagad na sa frontline.
“We already love what we have right now with sina Francis [Lopez], Seven [Gagate], at Luis [Pablo],” Wika ni UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde.
“Adding another young, hardworking center in Gani will certainly give us more versatility in our frontcourt as we continue to build our program in the seasons to come.”
Si Stevens ay kailangan sumailalim sa one-year residency period bago maging eligible maglaro para sa UP sa UAAP Season 87— para tapalan ang posisyon ng kasalukuyang UAAP Most Valuable Player Malick Diouf na maglalaro ng kanyang huling season.
Stevens ay may tatlong taon pa na eligibility na natitira sa UAAP.
