Nasabat ng operatiba ng Maritime Group ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang nasa P3.3 milyong smuggled gasoline sa maliit na pantalan sa Languyan, Tawi-Tawi.
Kinilala ang mga naaresto na mga smuggler na si Saldi Sali, 29; Kads Abdulmajid, 37; Tanong Sali, 28; Asri Tuwad, 32; Pepe Yusof, 25; Totoh Abdulfagur, 38; Raki Idris, 30; Moktaden Daud, 37; Toy Iya, 39; at, Puwa Idris, 43.
“The vessel immediately sped off when they sensed the presence of the operating team. The team chased the motorboat and stopped them thereafter conducted proper boarding procedures,” ayon kay Brig. Gen. John Mitchell Jamili, direktor ng Maritime Group
“During the inspection, we confirmed that the vessel has gasoline on drums on board and other various goods with no pertinent documents.”
Nasabat ang 400 drums ng gasolina na nagkakahalaga ng P3.3 milyon at isang motor launch boat na nagkakahalaga ng P2.5 milyon.
