
TATLONG Filipina dancesport champions ang itatampok ng Philippine Sports Commission’s (PSC) weekly web series na Rise Up! Shape Up! ngayong Sabado, March 27.
Sina 2019 Southeast Asian Games dance queens Anna Leonila Nualla, Pearl Marie Caneda, at Mary Joy Renigen ang magbibigay- kaalaman sa mga viewers sa pustura ng competitive dancing at performance.
Si Nualla sa nagreyna( 3golds) sa Viennese waltz, tango, at five-dance; kumamada naman ng 3 ginto si Caneda sa Cha-cha, Samba, at Rumba sa Latin category habang 2 ginto ang nasungkit ni Renigen sa waltz at foxtrot habang pilak naman sa quick step.
Si Women in Sports Oversight Commissioner Celia H. Kiram ay kinilala ang kahalagahan ng dancing bilang ehersisyo at isang larangan ng sport.
“Dancing engages a person’s entire body as well as the mind. We have so much talent in the country in this field we should recognize. Aside from this, learning the choreography keeps your brain active while the movement addresses heart rate, blood circulation, balance, and muscle movement,” paliwanag ni Kiram.
Sina International choreographer Chips Beltran, coach at Director ng 2017 at 2016 back-to-back World Hip-Hop International Champions UPeepz ay lahok di sa naturang show. Bantog din siya sa pagdomina ng 2015 at 2013 World Supremacy Battlegrounds Champions sa Australia.
“The episode further looks into the connction of movemnt and music for health and well-being led by UP Assistant Professor Mona Maghanoy who works as part of the Future Leader Program by the Foundation of the Global Community Health, an International organization that promotes the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.”
Tatalakayin din ni Comm. Kiram ang kasaysayan ng dance sa kanyang regular segment na‘Kwentong Isport.’(Danny Simon)
