Nakakapagod

QUOTE UNQUOTE: “Pandemic response honor list: Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia are the top countries. The Philippines is at the bottom. Duterte is a failure. A sick leader of a sick country.” – Ricardo de Leon Dalisay, netizen

“When will our grief end? Another one of my friends kicked the bucket yesterday. I don’t recall any other period in my life (71 years) when so many friends and other people I know passed on. COVID is such a killer I don’t understand why people can’t take it seriously, or why our government can’t or won’t get its act together to beat back this scourge. It is even sadder to realize that these deaths are occurring at a time when they are becoming more and more preventable. Let’s all be safe, let’s all be extra careful to protect ourselves and others.” – Miguel Suarez, retiradong mamamahayag, netizen

Nasa wikang Ingles, kaya pagtiyagaan. Narito:

MEET BETWEEN DUTERTE,
TRILLANES in 2015 TURNED SOUR

EX-Senator Antonio Trillanes IV had claimed he and Rodrigo Duterte had what the former lawmaker said an “exploratory talk” sometime in April, 2015, but it turned sour because Duterte tried to impress him that he was indeed a “murderer.”

It was a hour-long one-on-one meeting, which was part of the Magdalo’s efforts to determine on whom to support in the 2016 presidential elections, but Duterte came too strong as he narrated on those whom he killed, when and how he killed them, Trillanes said in an interview Monday morning by two radio hosts. It was an interview that was shown on social media.

“He turned me off. I later reported to the Magdalo group that he appeared to have some mental issues,” Trillanes said in Tagalog. “Mukhang may diperensiya sa utak,” he said of Duterte, who was the mayor of Davao City at that time.

Right at the start of the meeting, Duterte told him that he was not in any way running 2016, Trillanes said. At that time, Duterte was unsure if he was running and that was his propaganda line, Trillanes said.

Because he said at the outset that he was not running, it was impossible for him to ask him to be his vice presidential running mate, Trillanese said. But we turned the meeting into a getting-to-know occasion, but it did not turn out well as expected.

“Bong Go was around in the meeting room, although he was just in one corner” and did not participate,” Trillanes said.

He said they parted in a civilized way, as they shook hands and had some pictures taken, but claimed the meeting did not give him a good impression of Duterte.

Trillanes said they met because of what he described about “myths” of this man. Ithwas reported on how he allegedly turned Davao City into a wonder city and that Duterte, at that time, was projected a “man of action,” and “visionary,” which later on turned out to be false.

Trillanes said Magdalo was looking for a presidential candidate whom to support. Jojo Binay was out and Magdalo’s list included Duterte, Grace Poe and Mar Roxas.

Duterte, he said, made a hard sell of himself as somebody who could kill, probably because “he knew I was a former soldier.”

“He’s a narcissist, who likes to project himself and become the center of public attention.” Trillanes said.

Nagdiwang ang inyong lingkod ng ika-67 taong kaarawan noong Sabado de Gloria aming isinulat: “At this point in my life I’ve to confess I am a true liberal democrat, who believes in the primacy of the 1987 Constitution, the rule of law and the ultimate necessity of due process. I believe in human rights and the ultimate necessity to keep it. I abhor any form of autocracy and the frequent cutting corner to get things done. I abhor human rights violations and the continuing EJKs. I believe in the territorial integrity of the Philippines and disdain the frequent incursions by China on our territory. This may sound a renewal of faith in the Philippines. It is by all means. I will stand by our national interest in foul or fair weather.”

1.Don’t share them ever. Even if to call attention that they are fake, even to shame, even to fact-check. Just don’t share.

2. Unfollow those pages. The more followers they have the more people they can reach.

3. Share, repost, follow news that are real, and do the same for opinions and views that you agree with.

4. Report trolls, fake accounts, and fake news whenever you can. Do not engage, do not attack, just report.

5. If you want to share stories to alert they are fake, take a screen cap then post it as a photo. Don’t share directly from the post on FB that just gives them more metrics of success.

6. The above applies for satire, especially bad satire. Bad satire is believed just the same as fake news, so don’t share it.
