PINALAWIG ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang deadline ng Transfer for Overseas Registration.
Ayon sa Comelec, magkakaroon na ng sapat na panabon ang mga repatriated voters na nais bumoto sa Pilipinas para maghain ng kanilang aplikasyon para sa 2022 national at local elections.
Ang deadline ng paghahain ng aplikasyon para sa transfer of registration record ay pinahaba hanggang September 30, 2021 kasabay ng local registration deadline.
Ang orihinal na deadline ng transfer of registration sa mga overseas voters ay August 31.
” The Commision en Banc recognizes the need to prevent the disenfranchisement of a great number of our kababayans, who have been unexpectedly repatriated due to due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hence the decision to extend the deadline.If they will be in the Philippines on election day, then they can still exercise their right of suffrage by casting their ballot here”, ayon kay Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez.
