ISUSUKO lamang ni Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri si Senador Ronald Dela Rosa kapag may valid arrest warrant na ilalabas mula sa lokal na korte.
Kasunod na rin ito nang naging desisyon ng International Criminal Court na ibasura ang apela ng Pilipinas sa kanilang prosecutors na tigilan na ang pag-iimbestiga kaugnay sa ipinatupad na war-on-drugs ng bansa sa panahon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Matatandaang si Dela Rosa ang dating hepe ng Philippine National Police sa panahon ng Duterte administration.
“We have local courts, we have our Secretary of Justice, we have our own Department of Justice, we have our own local courts as I mentioned earlier,” sabi ni Zubiri.
Gayunman, nangangamba si Zubiri na maaaring maaresto si dela Rosa sakaling umalis ng bansa at magtungo sa mga bansang malapit sa ICC.
“But, however, ang delikado diyan if Senator Bato dela Rosa leaves the country and goes to the country that is friendly to the ICC, then they will act in that country to arrest Senator dela Rosa. But here in the Philippines the process is they must coordinate with the local court,” pagtatapos ni Zubiri.
Samantala, muling inihayag ni Sen. Francis Tolentino na sa naging desisyon ng ICC ay hindi nagbibigay sa kanila ng hurisdiksyon sa simula pa lamang na magpatuloy sa Philippine drug war probe.
“Any misguided claims suggesting otherwise would only highlight ICC’s persistent disregard for Philippine sovereignty. It is important to note that a foreign entity has no authority to investigate the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte,” paliwanag pa ni Tolentino. (Mylene Alfonso)
